Zr.Ms. Holland has taken over the tasks as station ship in the Caribben Region from Zr.Ms. Groningen. The patrol ship this morning moored in the St. Anna Bay at Willemstad. The forthcoming months the ship will be active with anti-drugs operations but will also be ready to be deployed providing emergency aid.

For the past years the station ship has been frequently assisted by a helicopter from the American Coast Guard. This time the NH90 maritime combat helicopter will again be sailing together on board departing from Den Helder, to serve as extra aerial eyes for the ship.

Zr.Ms. Groningen today after almost 5,5 months arrived at her home port in Den Helder. During past months the ship has intercepted a total of almost 7000 kilograms of cocaine in the Caribbean Region.

With the permanent presence of a station ship in the region, Defense is contributing with peace and security in the Caribbean Region
