In an announcement by Minister Charles Cooper of Spatial Planning in Curacao it has been revealed that the dredging operations for the marina in the Zakitó area will commence soon. This project includes the removal of the pedestrian bridge at the Koredor and the widening of the estuary. The new harbor will be equipped with an electronic drawbridge to facilitate the entry and exit of yachts.
In addition to the marina, the development plan for the area also includes the construction of hotels. However, no specific date has been announced for the start of the dredging activities.
