The Minister of Tourism and Public Health Mr. Dangui Oduber kicked off the #6 “Wound Care Symposium” that took place at the Renaissance Convention Center. Professional words from the Caribbean and the United States were brought to the symposium, everyone came together to share their knowledge about wound care. So that together they can improve the quality of care offered to the patient.
A symposium sponsored by Dr. Yuri Casseres of the “Center For Advanced Wound Care” (CAWC) (ex Wonden Poli) in HOH and also in ImSan. The level of care of the CAWC is the highest in the Dutch Caribbean. Currently the center has between 17 to 20 thousand consultations per year. Minister Oduber is proud that Aruba has an advanced wound care center that provides a high level of care.
Our community receives the best care when it comes to wounds, from the simplest to the chronic and complicated. Minister Oduber has full confidence in the expertise of Aruban professionals and their ability to provide care in our region. The President’s commitment is to continue working with the objective of developing our CAWC wound care center. In order to continue providing treatment not only to our community but also to the caregivers of the other Dutch Caribbean islands. This brings Alavés to the medical tourism of Aruba.
Many of the patients who need to treat wounds are people who suffer from diabetes, this often comes due to being overweight. That is why Minister Oduber and the Government remain focused on the national prevention plan to continue raising awareness and informing the community to lead a healthier life. Finally, Minister Dangui Oduber thanks Dr. Casseres for organizing this symposium. The president wishes all the professionals who are part of the symposium all kinds of success. Thank you for easing the pain of thousands in Aruba.
