DIMAS calls on promoters and organizers of planned events to submit a complete application in advance and to pay the corresponding fees as soon as they receive the payment order and not to wait a few days before the event to pay it. All applications for permits begin once DIMAS receives a confirmation from the Tax Department that the payment has been duly received.
In the case of the comedian who was unable to enter Aruba, DIMAS reports that the permit application was submitted at the end of March and the payment order was sent the same day. Unfortunately, the payment for the guest artist’s permit was made on April 12 and the payment was processed and confirmed on April 14. The process of receiving, administering and confirming payment to DIMAS through the Tax Department takes at least two business days. After the payment is processed, the permit process itself begins to take place, which involves the following document checks and systems are in place so that the person can receive a response to their permit request.
To avoid any inconvenience DIMAS reminds everyone that for every permit there is a series of checks that take place before the person can receive it. The organizer, guarantor or holder of the permit is responsible for providing all documentation on time, correct, complete and in compliance with the payment. Failure to comply with the above mentioned points will result in the organizer/promoter not being able to receive the application or the permit will not be cleared within the stipulated time. Various partners in the chain are responsible for making the various checks to ensure compliance with the law and regulations.
