Empowering Communities, Inspiring Future Generations

Aruba Airport Authority N.V.’s (AAA)Wings of Hope (WoH) team recently organized the 2nd AUA Airport Runway Run 2024 on Sunday March 17, 2024, where a total of 125 runners gave back to the community in an unforgettable way.

In the presence of all runners and volunteers, the Wings of Hope team symbolically handed over a nice donation of AWG 7,500.00 each to 2 foundations including Trampolin Pa Trabao and Funari. Trampolin Pa Trabao’s goal is to find employment for people with limitations from the age of 17 and up, by providing job training and matching their clients with local employers that best complement their potential. Funari focuses on the social integration of physically disabled individuals into society by keeping their minds and bodies active.

For the 2nd AUA Airport Runway Run 2024, all 125 runners ran a little over 5K starting from Runway 11 to Runway 29 and back towards Runway 11 to reach the finish line. All runners were provided with branded gadgets such as Safety Vests and hydration belt waist bags which were used during the actual run. To conclude the event, all runners were welcomed at the meeting point with fresh refreshments including branded coconuts with Wings of Hope’s new logo. A total of 32 prizes
were raffled among the participants and included electronics, sporting good items, health and wellness vouchers, travel vouchers, and gardening vouchers to mention a few.

To honor Wings of Hope’s efforts of executing social projects that have a positive impact on the Aruban community, Wings of Hope also launched its new logo which symbolizes resilience, compassion, and progress. Demonstrating a promise to build a better tomorrow, where every individual has access to food, education, and opportunities for growth guided by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Wings of Hope will continue empowering communities, and inspiring future generations.

AAA and WoH is immensely grateful for all volunteers, runners, organizations, and other service groups who participated in the 2nd AUA Airport Runway Run 2024 to make this an unforgettable and successful one.
