Two boats collide at sea, one sinks

Kustwacht 2

Last night there was an accident at sea where two boats collided at Barcadera on Aruba.
The Coast Guard’s Maritime Operations Center received a call on VHF channel 16 in the evening that an accident had occurred at Barcadera, a boat allegedly sinking after the collision. The Coast Guard immediately directed a Metal Shark to Barcadera to take pole height.
Upon arrival at the scene, the Coast Guard spotted a sunken vessel. The boat that caused the accident was docked further down the reef with a number of injured people on board. The Coast Guard helped the people from the sunken boat to board the Metal Shark. The injured were then taken by the coastguard to the port of Barcadera, where an ambulance and the police were waiting for them. The Coast Guard’s Metal Shark later returned with members of the police to the boat that caused the collision to take the captain with them.
I’ll take that. The investigation into this case is ongoing.
