Since the development of man is a priority in our country, Minister Sithree van Heydoorn discussed and made a short presentation of our education system. Taking into account this, the Ministry of the ESKD together with local experts have also silenced the educational development of adults. Several countries participated in it, such as the Netherlands, Belgium and Luthuania.
The twenty-first century has entered an era of unprecedented technological advances and globalization. The skills that were once enough to secure a stable job are no longer enough. To stay competitive and take advantage of the opportunities in front of us, we must equip our adults with a different set of 21st century enablements.
First of all, digital literacy is essential. In a technology-driven world, the ability to navigate digital brains and platforms is no longer an option, but fundamental. We must ensure that our adults can use technologies for personal and professional growth. Critical thinking and problem solving skills are equally essential. The ability to analyze complex problems, think creatively, and find innovative solutions will differentiate our adults in a competitive labor market. Investing in the development of 21st century skills in our adults is an investment in the future of our country. It will improve employment, boost economic diversification and ultimately lead to a more prosperous and resilient country.
Pései Minister Sithree vanHeydoorn is grateful for such an international collaboration in which our people could explore, experiment and learn about possible ways to promote and activate and recognize 21st century skills in adult education. The inclusion of this can become lasting by including our local library in this project. Our vision is to involve libraries in the facilitation and development of the aforementioned skills.
Taking into account the beautiful experience that the local delegation had in this association, the ESKD Minister appeals to the Government, educators, and employees1Q to join in this effort. Together we can ensure a brighter future for Curacao and its citizens.
