This fuel is equivalent to the Euro 4 standard
The working group, which includes the active representation of the Ministry of Economic Development (MEO), the Ministry of Public Health, Environment and Nature (GMN), the Gas Pump Owners Association, Curoil which is the Exclusive Supplier of Gasoline (Mogas 95) and Diesel (ULSD) in Curaçao, Bureau Telecommunicatie & Post (BTP), together with the Curaçao Heavy Equipment Association (CHEA), the Unicato Transporte (STU) and the Curaçao Car Dealers Association (CCDA), has delivered the fuel quality guide in which the new specifications are called upon to guarantee the best quality of Gasoline (Mogas 95) and Diesel (ULSD), equivalent to the Euro 4 standard, which is used in Europe.
As you may already know, under the guidance of the Working Group, SGS INSPIRE conducted a study of our fuel here in Corsica. From this came concrete recommendations for a better quality of fuel, equivalent to Euro 4, for Corsou. Specifically for gasoline and diesel. It is worth noting that due account has been taken of the financial-economic consequences that the recommendations for introducing higher quality fuels would entail. The financial consequences of this improvement would be e.g. a slight increase in the price of gasoline and diesel of around 3 cents and 2 cents respectively compared to current prices. Minister Cijntje emphasizes that in addition to a better quality equivalent to Euro 4 fuel, these recommendations also mean more and better efficiency and performance of the engines of our vehicles and also less costs on their maintenance.
With great pride, Minister Cijntje acknowledges that the recommendation of new specifications for gasoline and diesel was discussed and accepted in the Council of Ministers on August 23. As planned, the first batch of this high-quality fuel will arrive by November. Minister Cijntje thanked everyone who cooperated and worked hard on this project. In mid-September, a communication package will be launched to jointly inform the people of Corsica about the whole process of introducing this new and better quality fuel equivalent to Euro 4.
