The fight against human rights violations and the right to self-determination of the people of Bonaire continues

Pap E Lucha Contra Violacion Di Derecho Humano Y Derecho Di Autodeterminacion Di Pueblo Di Boneiro Ta Sigui  000

On Tuesday, September 5, at 7 p.m., Movimiento Causa Prome invites the public to its headquarters for an informative meeting with the Human Rights Defender in Bonaire, the president of the “Fundación Nos Ke Bonairo Bek” (We Want Bonaire Back), and the honorable activist James Finies.

Since 2010, when the Netherlands Antilles was dissolved, Mr. Finies is leading a campaign against the violation of the human rights of the Boneriano people, who have remained integral in the Netherlands as a public entity without equal rights. Political power fell to the Dutch government.

By mr. Finally, this power grab is a neocolonial act that violates the sovereign rights of the people of Bonaire. With the arrival of the Dutch began the process of the destruction of the culture, identity and language of Bonaire. It also means the appropriation of the island’s natural resources.

Together with activist Davika Bissessar-Shaw, president of the Boneiru Human Rights Organization (BHRO), James Finies launched an international crusade in 2022 that lasted 495 days. They visited countries in Latin America and the Caribbean as well as the United Nations. It was a tremendous mission of awareness seeking understanding and solidarity to finally get Bonaire on the United Nations’ list of “Territories Without Government of Their Own”.

Diamars is next. The end is in sight. He will inform the people of Corsica and the Bonerians living on Corsica about the successful 495-day crusade. He will also provide information on the status of the process to put Bonaire on the UN’s list of “Territories Without Government of Their Own”.

Some concrete achievements of the crusade are: Association as an associate member of the CARICOM Reparation Commission, Special Consultative Status of the Economic and Social Council of the UN, BHRO presentation at the UN Permanent Forum of People of African Descent

Movimento Causa Prome cordially invites you to meet activist James Finies directly from Bonaire. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 5 at the Causa Prome headquarters, Sunday, Papayaweg 14. Schedule: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is free.

The First Cause Movement is waiting for you. The sacred struggle for the emancipation of our peoples continues
