From 18 to 23 September 2023, the teachers’ training took place in connection with the introduction of the sex education program, Viva Amor. Teachers of 5th and 6th graders, headmasters, parents and teachers of the Health Movement attended a day of study.
The program consists of a “package”, which focuses on broadening the knowledge encountered. developmental stages, including adolescence, sexual development at the pupil level, contraception and sexually transmitted diseases.
Emphasis was also placed on the social emotional well-being of the student, on social skills and attitudes to make conscious choices in sexual matters. SKOA and SPCOA introduced the Love Life method a long time ago. Minister Endy Croes saw the great importance of sex education in schools and took the decision to implement the Biba Amor method also in the schools that fall under the
DPS. “The Biba Amor” method will be implemented for the 5th and 6th year students of the primary school. Next to this, there was an informative evening for parents, where a comprehensive explanation of the topics that will be addressed in the method and also give parents space to ask questions. Minister Endy Croes thanks all those who contributed to this educational project the welfare of all children and youth in Aruba.
