Eng Tax Department Takes Important Steps To Reduce Backlogs In Processing Of Objection

The amount of 18,025 objections were processed in the first half of 2023. The Department of Taxation has been announcing in recent weeks the efforts made in the field of tax collection and compliance during the first half of the year and gives an overview of the work being done to reduce the delay in the processing of objections. Although there is still much work to be done, the work is progressing at a steady pace and in a structured manner with a standard of processing 3,000 objection letters per month.

Determined to eliminate backlogs

The delay in processing the objection letters has left taxpayers still waiting for an Inspector’s response. The Tax Department understands the concerns of taxpayers and is in full implementation of a structural plan to address this backlog. Although the backlog has not yet been completely eliminated, officials from the Tax Department are determined to optimize the service and reduce the waiting time.

Measures have been taken to increase processing capacity and reduce waiting times for taxpayers. The Tax Department has made significant progress in reducing delays in processing refunds and remains committed to reducing delays in processing tax objections as well.
