The Curacao Tourist Board (CTB), in collaboration with partners from the hospitality sector, has recently started a transformative 3-day event in Sürnam. Curacao Fest 2023 focused on fostering the strongest relationships and collaborations in Sürnam, while encouraging consumers’ desire to experience the vibrant Curacao auctions during their upcoming holidays in the month of September. The event gave an insight into our accommodations and offered those present a taste of the rich culture and beauty of Curacao. The Curacao Fest 2023 received visitors from 20 media outlets, more than 30 travel agents, and more than 700 people who attended this event.
The first day of the Curacao Fest was dedicated to exchanging with members of the press, starting with a typical Asturian breakfast that opened the way to an informative day. Those present had presentations about our local hotels, followed by an interesting review of Regional Manager of the Caribbean, Mrs. Elaine Hart-Francisca who shared the latest activities, upcoming events and developments in Curacao, thus giving members of the press a broad view of the dynamic landscape of our island. An interactive art tayer led by our local artist Avantia Damberg added a creative touch, allowing members of the press to create their own art on bags inspired by iconic images from Curacao. The event was attended by influential media in Sürnam.
The second day focused on equipping travel agents with the army they need to effectively promote and sell Curacao. The travel agents had detailed introductions with Mrs. Hart-Francisca and nearby Curacao hotels Curacao partners, i.e. Courtyard by Marriott Curacao, Harbor Hotel & Casino Curacao and Brion City Hotel. Thus, the agents were trained and empowered to be able to show the unique accommodation offers that Curacao offers to potential travelers.
The event culminated with a vibrant consumer show at the new International Mall Suriname. More than 20 stands from various partners, including airlines, travel agencies and hotels, decorated the venue, inspiring visitors to imagine and visualize their next vacation in Curacao. Those present could enjoy the culinary delights of Curacao and enjoy a good bread with stew presented in a bread chest. Visitors had the opportunity to participate in an art tile guided by Avantia Damberg and also experience the Curacao culture through a tambu tile. The set in the background, which showed the iconic image of Curacao from The “Handelskade”, took visitors to the heart of our island.
CTB Curacao Curacao Curacao extended gratitude to its hotel partners, including Courtyard by Marriott Curacao, Harbor Hotel & Casino Curacao and Brion City Hotel, and local artist Avantia Damberg, for their valuable contributions to the success of Curacao Fest 2023.
