In the Netherlands, the VVD brought a new member to parliament. He was a member of parliament twice before. Simone Richardson stands in the middle of the plenary room to take the oath.
Richardson replaced Mariëlle Paul, who became minister of primary and secondary education in the resigned cabinet. He was number 47 on the VVD’s list of candidates in the March 2021 parliamentary elections. The new Member of Parliament lives in Haarlemmermeer.
Richardson was twice elected MP: in September and October 2022 he replaced Ockje Tellegen and in November 2022 he replaced Bente Becker. Her portfolio included youth policy and social service. Today Richardson enters the Dutch parliament to exercise his duties and serve his country the Netherlands.
