From 11 to 22 September 2023 an investigation will be carried out in Bonaire on the health of 13- to 17-year-olds youth. The Pan American Health Organization, PAHO, and the World Health Organization are all involved. This research is being done worldwide.
The goal is to improve future support for youth, using information from the research. For the investigation, the Public Health Department is working closely with PAHO.
In the list of questions they ask questions about, among other things, what young people eat and to drink. There are also questions about personal hygiene, and there are questions about temptation, cyberbullying and related drugs, violence, emotions and sexuality.
The investigation takes place at the school during normal school hours. Schools cooperate with the execution of the investigation. Young people are not obliged to participate and do not need to write their names when answering the questions on paper. When he has completed the writing of the law question, the young man himself can throw the list in a box.
In this way, no one in the village can see what the young man has filled. Through a letter and a brochure, parents of youths aged 13 to 17 were informed about the investigation. At school the students received information from their mentors.
Some time ago the Department of Public Health conducted a test investigation. Then the 18-year-olds filled out a list of questions. So they handed him over to be crucified. Participants themselves should throw their answer paper in a bag. so that no one may boast. They do not reveal what they have put into it.
