We are entering the end of Holy Week. In Aruba, most citizens these days take time to spend with their families whether traveling, camping or staying home and enjoying family unity. For many citizens, this is also considered a solemn and important time to renew their faith and reflect on Jesus. Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes from the Netherlands, wishes the people of Aruba a safe and beautiful season.
I hope that all of Aruba can have a weekend of devotion. We are a community of great faith and it is fitting for us to pause in these days and reflect on the life and death of Jesus. His sacrifices were made out of love for others.
May it also inspire us in the struggles that each of us is facing every day. We are our family, our country, because faith will help each of us to achieve all our goals. It’s a busy weekend, and I hope that those of us who have a tradition of camping will take care of our beaches. Aruba was recently named the eighth most beautiful beach in the Caribbean and the world. As long as we are doing this, we ought to keep on doing it. Happy Easter week.
