During her visit to the Netherlands, Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes accompanied Minister Plenipotentiary Mr. Ady Thijsen met with the entire school of Gemeente Venray on various possibilities for cooperation. The Prime Minister expressed that the meeting was a positive one, where the great interest of the entire college in working with Aruba was noted. Also during the meeting, some areas of cooperation were identified, such as economic, cultural, and educational exchanges. As for education, there are already several institutes in talks with the EPB Foundation in Aruba, which is an area that is very important for the Government to provide more opportunities to young people. The next step is to sign a “letter of intent” which concretizes the negotiations for Aruba to continue working with Venray.
The Prime Minister thanked her. Amira Luydens-Dabian, who as an Arubian, lives in the Netherlands, and as a member of Geemente Raad Venray, started this initiative. Mrs. Luydens and her family have been in the Netherlands for over 40 years, but seeing that her heart has always been in Aruba, she worked hard to give Aruba more opportunities.
I would like to thank Minister Plenipotentiary Ady Thijsen and his team who worked very hard to reach cooperation agreements with Aruba in the fields of trade, studies, and culture. These agreements are certainly of great benefit to the country of Aruba”, the Prime Minister said.
