Upon arriving at Queen Beatrix Airport on Thursday 13 April afternoon, Prime Minister Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes received members of the press to give a summary of her week of business trip to the Netherlands. As always when he has to go to the Netherlands to attend to the affairs of Aruba and the Kingdom, the Prime Minister ensures an intense agenda of meetings so as to make the most of his stay in the Netherlands. And so Prime Minister Tawata has about 30 meetings during this trip.
The Prime Minister, since arriving in the Netherlands on Monday, April 3, has started with very important meetings on various topics of common interest with the Netherlands and of interest to the recovery of Aruba. It was a very important work week for Kingdom relations.
As is well known, April 4 was an important day for the signing of the Underlinge Regeling agreement between the Prime Ministers of the Kingdom and the Secretary of State of the Netherlands. Following this during the press conference in the Netherlands, Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes made a speech in which she expressed that this achievement shows that it is possible in difficult times to have a conversation with each other as a country and to reach out to each other. It also shows that when you give others space, respect, and listening, that leads to success.
The Prime Minister, before leaving the Netherlands for Aruba, expressed a sense of great satisfaction and pride in what he has achieved and continues to achieve emphasizing that Aruba is a blessed country. With the agreements reached in the Netherlands, the worst days of the crisis our country has experienced are behind us and better days of recovery and hope are ahead. This agreement will serve as a basis for, in good cooperation in the Kingdom, we continue to work to recover our economy to achieve progress with stability and prosperity for Aruba”, Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes said on her arrival from the Netherlands.
At the airport, the Prime Minister was greeted with a beautiful bouquet of flowers by Minister of Education and Sports Endy Croes who also stood with the Prime Minister during the press conference to show the support of the Council of Ministers for the achievements and work of the past week. The Prime Minister at the close of the conference emphasized that the Wever-Croes Cabinet is a stable government that works for recovery and the welfare of Aruba.
