Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas received the Headship of the delegation of the European Union of Guyana Mr. Rene van Nes on September 1, 2023

This was a courtesy visit by Mr. Van Nes able to close knowing the Prime Minister Mr. Steps and elaborate on the different projects that are financed by the European Union in Curacao. During the conversation in the fortress, the current structure in Curacao dealing with the division of funds from the European Union was elaborated (Ministry of General Affairs for EDF funds and Ministry of economic development for non-EDF funds), completed projects (10E EOF), but also in projects that are being prepared in the future (11e EOF). He also elaborated on the program of the DOAG (decision overseas association including Greenland), the facilities of TAIEX (Technical Assistance and Information Exchange instrument of the European Commission), as well as on the communication structure that the head of the delegation of the European Union will take with him, in order to further strengthen cooperation and that Curacao can get more information about the different funds available by the European Union. After the conversation, a memorial was held where a plaque was placed in four villages in Curacao, where European Union funds were used for various projects. These are the barrels of Nieuw Nederland, footwear, farmhouses and Red Earth. Mr. Van Nes was satisfied with the conversation and praises the placement of the plaques where the support of the European Union side is recognized. The Prime Minister, Mr. Pisas was also very satisfied with the visit of Mr. René van Nes.
