This morning I made an important announcement. Today I announced that tomorrow, 12 of September 2023, I will no longer serve as Leader of the MEPs’ fraction.
The evaluation to make this decision started before I went on leave in July, but I wanted to arrange my replacement first and he wanted time to think. In August, the decision was overturned. My decision was made because of family challenges, health challenges, and other circumstances. Education of my children. These require my most intensive attention and are a priority for me at the moment. And my job as the leader of the fraction is very responsible and difficult to combine and fulfill with it and at the same time give my family the attention that they now need.
