Governmental integrity is a topic that we need to be able to discuss openly, also in the Council of Ministers During July 2023, the Council of Ministers agreed to a proposal from the Ministry of Integrity to periodically hold sessions in
Council of Ministers on governmental integrity. The sessions will take place every quarter.
The first session took place on 19 September 2023, with councillors Carlos Guiamo and Ruthlyn Lindor. After a short introduction, the meeting proceeded in a very interactive manner.
During the same meeting the Council of Ministers also deliberated on some points of the concept for a code of conduct for ministers. The code of conduct deals with a variety of topics such as non-performance, conflict of interest, work travel, how to handle gifts, and more.
The next session of the Council of Ministers on governmental integrity is planned for December 2023. Regarding the concept for a code of conduct for ministers: this will be finalized in the short term by the Bureau of the Minister of Integrity in collaboration with Bureau Integriteit Aruba.
