Recently, Culture Minister Xiomara Maduro was one of Artisa’s guests to witness the unveiling of the mural by local artist Paul Wong. This afternoon began with a tour given by Titus
Bolivar Street with a mosaic work at the beginning of the main street of Omaira Silva. This work, an octopus entirely made of mosaic, is a beautiful addition to the St. Nicholas chapels.
After this the tour continued to the next stop which was a 3D mural of the name of Aruba, made by our local artist Robert Solognier, better known as Ice One. This work is a work that captivates all those who pass by, seeing that it consists of various components that make up our country, such as
San Nicolaas store, Alto Vista Chapel and the Lighthouse to name a few. There is no doubt that a wall that highlights the place makes our country unique.
Finally, the tour ended with the unveiling of Paul Wong’s mural entitled “My Strength” which is the coat of arms of Aruba made in the form of a lion receiving life, with the words “There is nothing to break”, emphasizing the strength of our country. Minister Maduro thanks Artisa for the invitation and also thanks all the artists who participated
make their contribution to the Aruba Art Fair, creating unique works once again for all visitors to admire. I invite all of you who have not yet visited St. Nicholas to come and admire the newest works.
