New funding opportunities bring new opportunities for restoration

On Thursday, the day that Minister Maduro reserves for a meeting on Culture, the president met with Stichting Monumentenfonds Aruba (SMFA) on developments in the world of monuments.

In the meeting with the director of SMFA, Mrs. Anne Witsenburg, elaborated on new funding opportunities that would bring opportunities for restoration of private monuments. It also touched on the 30 May webinar organized by the Dutch Caribbean Heritage Platform where there is an opportunity to collaborate and talk with other countries in the Kingdom of the Netherlands about the different challenges facing the world of monuments and their respective restoration. At the end of the meeting, Mr. Witsenburg handed over the 2021 annual report to the Minister of Culture.

Minister Maduro is satisfied with the developments and hopes to see more opportunities to come out of these developments that are beneficial for the preservation of our country’s monuments.
