On September 28, www.coleccion.aw will be officially launched. Recently Mrs. Maduro Minister of Culture met with the team of the National Archive of Aruba, the National Library of Aruba and UNOCA who are working on the digital platform Coleccion Aruba on www.coleccion.aw. A collaboration that started with these three instances and now includes many more partners and information.
Coleccion.aw is a unique innovation not only in Aruba, but also in our region. Recently Aruba presented the work done to get to Coleccion.aw, at the conference of libraries, archives and museums of ACURIL in Jamaica and this caused a very positive impact among the members who also want to get to such a digital platform based on the collaboration of several instances in their respective countries. The cooperation between the various agencies, departments and foundations is commendable. This digital platform also plays an important role in connecting the history and culture of Aruba in a sustainable development, fulfilling one of the goals of the United Nations.
Stay tuned for the September 28th International Access Day to Information for the official launch of Coleccion Aruba, an innovative project in digital preservation of our cultural heritage.
