Kario is the son of Henry Pereira jr. – better known as Junie and Diana Bailey. Junie is Aruban and Diana is American.
Kario Marcel was born in Aruba on August 13, 1989 and moved to the United States with his parents in 1991 where he currently resides.
From an early age one of her hobbies was theatre and she acted in various theatre plays.

After high school, she continued to study her passion, theater. She studied successfully for her Bachelor’s degree at the Circle in the Square School of Dramatic Art in New York. She then obtained her Masters of Fine Arts from New York University (NYU).

The 2022 film, A Jazman’s Blues, is available on Netflix and is well received. This year, on February 25, 2023, the film received several nominations at the AACP Image

In this film Kario Marcel plays the role of Johnathan Dupree.
In 1987, an elderly woman, Hattie Mae, visits Johnathan Dupree in his office. Johnathan is the attorney general of Hopewell, Georgia, who is trying to win re-election over his racist political views. Hattie says she must solve the murder of her son, Horace John Boyd, known as Bayou. Bayou was lynched in Hopewell County 40 years earlier, in 1947.

He gives Johnathan a package of letters saying that he can find everything he needs to know in the letters. Johnathan wants to throw the cards away, but when he sees that the cards are addressed to Leanne J. Harper, his mother, starts reading them.
At this moment, the reality of 40 years ago begins to reveal itself, a story of racial segregation and its consequences, the bleak living conditions of the American South. And Jonathan learns the truth about his birth and his heritage as a black man in white.

People from Aruba, Corsica and Bonaire are invited to see this film, A Jazzman’s Blues, on Netflix. We congratulate Kario Marcel Pereira on this success and hope to see him in many more films.
