On Friday 28 April, a first inspection took place of the dining, bar and stage stands for ‘Dia di Rincon’ on 30 April. The inspection was carried out under the supervision of the Supervision and Enforcement Department of the Public Body Bonaire (OLB) and in cooperation with the Caribbean Netherlands Fire Brigade (BKCN) and the Caribbean Netherlands Police Force (KPCN).

The various authorities checked that the rules governing the authorisation of the event were correctly complied with. The purpose of this check is to ensure the safety and health of everyone during the event.

During the inspection some irregularities were detected and these were reported to the organising committee responsible for the event, which together with the booth owners must ensure that everything is in order before Sunday 30 April, when a new inspection will take place.

In addition, signs with deviations have been placed at the entrance to Rincon for drivers and at various locations for when streets are blocked with barricades. Drivers are urged not to park behind these barricades or remove them to ensure that the streets remain accessible to emergency services. Did you see anything suspicious? Call 911 or 717 8000 or the anonymous tip line 9310.
