John Soliano new Governor of Bonaire

Mr. J.R.E. (John) Soliano will be the new Island Governor of Bonaire.
State Secretary Alexandra van Huffelen of Kingdom Relations and
Digitalisation nominated him for appointment in the Council of Ministers.
John Soliano (52) was born on Bonaire and has been director of Operations
and Support at the Public Entity of Bonaire since 2024. From 2022 to 2024,
he was an independent consultant in the field of human resources
management, organisational development, leadership and corporate
governance. Prior to that, he worked, among other things, as manager at
Orco Bank Bonaire for six years and was responsible for the reorganisation of
Bonaire Holding Company (BHM) as director from 2012 – 2016. He held
various positions as interim manager and human resources manager at,
among others, the Bonaire Telecommunications Company (Telbo N.V.) and
the Water- and Energy Company Bonaire (WEB).
Mr. Soliano studied Personnel and Labour at the Hogeschool West Brabant
and obtained his Master of Arts in Managing Human Resources from the
University of the West of England.
Mr. Soliano's appointment as Bonaire's governor will commence on the 1st of
August 2024
