In 2017 was the last time that there were Interinsular Games, this year took place the Interinsular Games where the first sports games took place in March in Bonaire where in the category of dammen and chess, then the games took place in Curaçao where competed in trefball and athletics and here Aruba once again played a good role in the way Aruba won the title of IBiSA champion.
On 21 and 22 April 2023, Aruba will withdraw from the Inter-Islander Games where football and volleyball will compete.
The opening takes place on April 21 from 5:00- 8:00 pm at Jaburibari Curation Park (Cruyff Court).
Various questions were asked and one of them was the fact that the Inter-Island Games were stopped seven years ago, partly because of the time and problems with airlines not being able to catch flights at the last minute, the time and the schools that qualified for the Inter-Island Games could not travel.
At the moment the football and volleyball teams are in full preparation, as seen during the Holy Week holidays, as well as the schools presenting themselves for training to prepare for the Inter-Islander Games.
Aruba is represented by two boys volleyball teams, the Sacred Heart College as champion and the Maria School as runner-up.
For the Interinsular Games in Aruba, a total of 80 children will participate in both sports.
In football this will be in the girls advanced school category where the champion is Colegio Arubano and the runner-up is Colegio Nigel Matthew.
Entrance to these games is completely free, football matches take place at Parque Curason Jaburibari at Cruyff Court and volleyball matches take place at Complexo Desportivo Frans Figaroa in Shaba.
An invitation is extended to the entire community of Aruba to come and support schools participating in the 2023 Interinsular Games in both boys’ volleyball and girls’ football.
Volleyball games start on April 21 at 2:30 pm between Colegio Sagrado Curason and Bonaire, football starts at 3:00 pm between Colegio Arubano and Bonaire.
