Recently during the public meeting of the parliament of Aruba the Supplementary Budget 2023 of the Aruba was addressed. During the dissertation the Minister of Education and Sports Mr. Endy Croes answered questions regarding his ministries. Minister Endy Croes explained during the public meeting the changes in the budget in the aspect of education.
A total of Awg 580 thousands was removed from the salaries subsidy of the school directives and allocate it for other projects. Sums were cut from several “school directives”. In addition, the amount that went to the school that closed was also used for these projects. However, this amount includes the 17.1% premium and then it turned out in the end that it is 15.7%, which was also used for other projects.
Apart from this, in the 2023 budget comes forward the way to help schools with materials to learn their work in the hotel sector. AHATA made a beautiful donation to E.P..B. Sint Nicolaas. Minister Endy Croes noted that the E.P.I. College will also receive the Awg. 325 thousands through the “Standard Amount”. In relation to the affairs of the ministry of Sports, Minister Endy Croes indicated that a request was made to the Aruba Sport Unie (ASU) to come up with different courses to educate the federations how to have a good management. The federations must be strong to provide proper guidance.
