They must adhere to international sailing rules to avoid collisions. Jet skis are not allowed to sail in the light blue area during the boat festival. They must also sail calmly between the buoys and should not approach swimmers or inflatable objects. Boats also need to sail safely, especially as it will be busier on the water.
The Marine Park is a protected area. Therefore, boats are not allowed to anchor there. This protects the beautiful underwater nature of Bonaire. Reserving buoys in advance helps to prevent overcrowding and environmental damage.
