The rural communities can be proud of having a group of young professionals who joined and formalized the movement in a statutory way and raised the “Curacao Pride Foundation”.
The Foundation’s objective and commitment is to promote the development of acceptance, inclusion and equality of the LGBTQ community in Curacao.
The Foundation’s Board of Directors consists of Charlysen Jansen (President), Roushaira Alexander (Vice President and Secretary), Jordan Constancia (Treasurer), Timothy Martina (External Commissioner) and Francis O’Connor (Internal Commissioner). The whole team is grateful to all the above to bring the fight for the acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community to Curacao and hopes to be able to continue counting on the support and support of each one in the future.
The Curacao Pride Foundation ” is in charge of the celebration of the “Pride 2023” that this year will be held during the first two weeks of October. From the 1st to the 15th of October entire communities and LGBTQ+ people in particular are cordially invited to attend the various events and talks. Of course the traditional colorful “Pride Walk” can not be left out. This will take place on October 12, leaving at 7 pm from Riffort and will culminate in a magnificent meeting at Rainbow Park on Wilhelminaplein.
The Pride 2023 edition has the theme ‘Live in Color’. Live your color. With this slogan, we want to emphasize how essential it is to find your identity and be accepted for who you are. To be celebrated by a community conscious of enrichment in diversity.
