Cultural activity started in centro di bario Brazil

The Chico Harms Foundation called a press conference to announce their celebration. According to the president of the foundation, as every year they prepare for their Brazil Day activities. This year there is a wide program for the community of Aruba, but especially for those from Brazil.

The activities will take place on May 28 where the first activity will be held that opens the official Brazil Day activity. The first day will start with a parade without electricity, a parade that uses no electricity, all groups are invited to bring their instruments and make the parade unique and original, the parade leaves from the church of Brazil at 4:30 pm and ends in the center of Brazil neighborhood. This is the third time that the parade has been organized and it is going to be beautifully sung, those who want to participate can wear their cultural costumes and be part of the parade on Sunday, May 28, 2023.

The next activity is San Juan on June 24th which falls on a Saturday and is expected to fill up the center of Brazil barrio to celebrate this cultural event. There will also be some nice prizes for the winners, on July 29th there will be street songs, this is a kind of road march that will lead to the parade, let’s say there are already 7 groups confirmed. However, there are still places open for all musicians who want to participate and bring a unique cultural environment to Aruba and the Brazilian neighborhood. Registration is open until June 24. Like every year, it seeks to get children, youth and adults to participate.

On August 19, there is a typical brawl, especially for those who have won on July 29, who will come together and throw a dance party in the center of Brazil neighborhood. On August 26, there will be a Queen’s Coronation in which there will be seven categories starting from baby to grand cultural lady. In addition, our cultural pillar will be crowned with an annual selection, which is about an elderly person who has stood out for many years and has done a lot for the culture of Aruba. The show starts at 7:30 where the candidates will perform a joint show, but then each candidate will perform their separate show whether it is dance or comedy but it must be a show that identifies the culture of Aruba.

On September 1 there is the lantern parade, on September 2 there is a drum show so there are already 5 drum groups that have registered to give their drum show and on September 3 there is the folkloric cultural parade. On October 29th, there is the great show and multicultural food in downtown Brazil.
