Colombian business owners exploring Curaçao as a base for expanding businesses beyond our economic zones

Empresarionan Di Colombia Ta Explora Curacao Como Base Pa Expande Nan Negoshi

A group of entrepreneurs from the cities of Medellin, Maicao, Rio Hacha, and Dibulla in Colombia recently visited Curaçao with the aim of exploring possibilities to expand their businesses beyond Colombia. On this occasion, the delegation was led by the Mayor of Dibulla, Mr. Marlon Amaya, and the Mayor of Maicao, Mr. Mohamad Hajj.

During an intensive program, the delegation got acquainted with and explored the opportunities offered by our Economic Zones and Industrial Park. Ganesh, a company established in the economic zone for years, welcomed the delegation during their visit to the Economic Zone at Koningsplein. Mr. Gulu Buxani and his team exchanged ideas with the entrepreneurs. As part of their visit to Curaçao, the Curaçao Industrial and International Trade Development Company N.V. (Curinde) and Agribusiness organized a networking event for the Colombian group to connect with local entrepreneurs and explore business possibilities. On this occasion, Minister Ornelio Martina delivered remarks on behalf of the Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Ruisandro Cijntje.

This visit from the delegation from Colombia is a combined effort of Curinde and Agribusiness. Curaçao has a Memorandum of Understanding signed with Rio Hacha and intends to use this to expand economic activities, using this agreement as a foundation. The visit by the delegation of entrepreneurs from the 4 cities is part of Curinde’s efforts to attract more economic activity to Curaçao in general, as well as to our Economic Zones and Industrial Parks in particular. The entrepreneurs, most of whom are in the production sector, were very enthusiastic about the possibilities that Curinde and Curaçao can offer them to continue developing their activities. In this way, they can reach more markets through Curinde’s business parks platform.

Curinde wants to express its gratitude to the CTB, the Ministry of Economic Development, Mr. Buxani of Ganesh, and the private sector who contributed to making this visit a success. Curinde continues in its efforts to attract more economic activity to Curaçao as well as to the Economic Zones and Industrial Parks.
