Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) has released its
preliminary figures for June 2024, revealing that Bonaire welcomed 12,117 stayover
visitors during the month. This represents an increase of 5.04% compared to June 2023.
Last year, during the same month, Bonaire welcomed 11,536 stayover visitors. Compared
to the pre-pandemic performance, e.g., in June 2019, Bonaire welcomed 12,500 visitors.
Dutch visitors remained the largest group, accounting for 41% of the total, followed by
Americans at 31%. Additionally, visitors from Curacao accounted for 14.7% of our
visitors; Aruba, Belgium, Germany, and Canada also contributed significantly to
Bonaire’s tourism industry.
US visitors primarily came from Florida, Texas, Georgia, California, Colorado,
Pennsylvania, New York, and other major states. The age groups with the highest
representation were 45-54 (22%) and 55-64 (21%), indicating a strong interest from
mature travelers. Dutch visitors mainly hailed from North Holland, South Holland, and
North Brabant, with the dominating age group being 55-64 (20.8%) and 45-54 (19.3%).
Furthermore, Bonaire welcomed 27,885 cruise visitors, totaling 7 cruise ships in
May 2024.
