Aruba Open Beach Tennis Championships Introduces Ticketed Entry for 2024 to Enhance Security and Safeguard the Iconic Event Ambiance

The Aruba Open Beach Tennis Championships, one of the most iconic events on the ITF Beach
Tennis World Tour, returns to Bushiri Beach from November 10th to 17th, 2024. For the first time in its
history, the eight-day event will require a nominal entry fee, marking a significant shift in how it is
presented to the community and international guests.
The decision to introduce ticketed entry is part of a broader initiative to enhance security and ensure a
safe, vibrant experience for players and spectators alike. Traditionally a free event, the Aruba Open’s
new ticketing system is designed to offer attendees a secure, premium environment. A one-time ticket
purchase provides access to all eight days of the event. Registered players of the Aruba Open do not
have to purchase tickets.
Securing the Future of Aruba Open
“Our goal is to safeguard the longevity of the Aruba Open Beach Tennis Championships and to continue
providing an exceptional experience for all players and spectators,” said Sjoerd de Vries, organizer of the
Aruba Open. “Introducing ticketed entry was a difficult decision, but it’s a necessary step to maintain the
premium status of our event and offer the best possible experience.”
Over the past few years, the need for enhanced security has become increasingly apparent. Feedback
from Aruba Open partners, local and international beach tennis players, spectators, and vendors has
highlighted the importance of creating a safe and secure environment. The organizers themselves have
also observed this necessity, particularly after incidents at last year’s event, including several
altercations, which underscored the urgency of this change. While the organizers would prefer to keep
the Aruba Open a free event, the decision to implement ticketing has been made to protect everyone
involved and preserve the event’s well-known iconic ambiance year after year.

World-Class Competition with Record-Breaking Prize Money
The Aruba Open continues to attract top-tier talent, drawing players from over 40 countries each year.
Aruba has hosted the Aruba Open Beach Tennis Championships for more than a decade, and it has
grown tremendously since its inception. Now recognized as the best beach tennis tournament of the
year on the ITF World Tour calendar, the event draws over 1,200 participants, not including the friends
and family who travel with them to Aruba. Aruba Open’s reputation is known worldwide, and with its

invitation to join the prestigious ITF Sand Series circuit this year, it will set a new standard with a record-
breaking prize pool of US $95,000, which will be distributed across various categories of the

competition.
An Unmatched Experience at the Aruba Open Village
Attendees will have exclusive access to the vibrant event village, which offers an array of dining options,
unique shops, live music, happy hours, and, of course, thrilling beach tennis matches. This year’s event
promises to deliver an unparalleled atmosphere, making it a must-attend occasion on Aruba’s social
calendar.
Get Your Tickets Now
Tickets are now available for purchase. Early bird tickets are priced at US $20, with door prices set at US
$30. Each ticket provides access to all eight days of the event. Children aged 12 and under, when
accompanied by an adult, can attend the event free of charge. Additionally, the Aruba Open will feature
a Junior tournament, and registered players of the Junior tournament do not need to purchase tickets.
Registered players of the event do not need to purchase tickets; however, local beach tennis players are
encouraged to sign up early, as spaces are limited and full participation is expected. Organizers are
anticipating even higher participation than last year, so securing a spot early is crucial.
