Aruba Lions Club held their food collection event for school children
This is because many children go to school hungry. They fear that if the situation continues, more children will beg for food.
Rubin Ponson, president of the Aruba Lions Club, indicated that one of the projects they are focusing on is hunger relief. Here they have noticed that in recent times many children go to school without bread for breakfast, without a good breakfast to spend their day at school. That was one of the reasons they chose to come up with this project. He indicated that they distributed large quantities of sacks with juice, biscuits and more.
Of how many children go to school without eating, Ponson expressed that they have no idea. But I’ve noticed that there are always requests, like at the Lions Club itself, for help in various ways for both adults and children. Aruba Lions Club caters to all generations, including adults, children and youth.
