On the morning of 24 August 2023, a twin-otter of Air Antilles landed on the Rémy-de-Haenen Airport runway in St. Barth and had an accident.
Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. The Air Antilles plane landed on the runway of St. Barth International Airport. Barth Airport was hit by a parked helicopter. Six of the passengers were in the accident, but one person was injured.
According to the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service of Saint. Mr Barthelemy, there were seven people involved in the accident, including a woman who suffered minor injuries. The airport immediately ceased operations, and to date it has been reported that there was no one in the helicopter at the time.
The cause of the accident is not yet known, but an investigation will be carried out by the General de Aviación Civil (DGAC) to see what happened and how the plane could have hit the helicopter.
