Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association (AHATA) in collaboration with the Disaster Management Office Aruba (DMOA) organized the “Crisis Management Planner” training for its members. The two-day training, facilitated by experts in the management of the DMOA calamity, gave 52 participants from different companies the opportunity to develop the critical skills that are necessary to navigate a potential calamity.

The training program focused on how to identify reactions, recovery abilities, shortage of resources and how to align a company’s Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) with the The National Emergency Service of Aruba. The training received positive reactions and was given a certification to all participants after completing the sessions.

With this training AHATA provides its members with guidance and support to know how to manage and recover effectively of any crisis and contributes to the safety of tourists and all workers in the hospitality and tourism in an emergency case. AHATA thanks Humphrey Gomez and Rino Hermans from “DMOA”/”Bra” for the extensive training and La Cabana Beach Resort & Casino for facilitating their ballroom for the training sessions.
