AHATA: Occupation experienced in August an occupation and RevPAR reduced

Ahata Occupation Experienced In August And Revpar Reduced

The Aruba Hotel Tourism Association (AHATA) accumulates occupancy figures and hotel prices every month and the CEO of AHATA, Tisa LaSorte, announces that in August it experienced a reduction in occupancy again and also a reduction in RevPAR.

August 2023:

Occupancy: The occupancy rate was 75%; which is 9% less than the occupancy rate in August 2022 and 13% less than in 2019.

ADR: The average value of each room sold was $307.83; an increase of 6% compared to August 2022.

RevPAR: The average income for all available rooms was $231.95 which is a 3% reduction. compared to 2022. RevPAR is the indicator of the financial result before discounting expenses operational and tax.

Occupancy: The average occupancy for the first 8 months was 79%; an increase of 6% compared to the same season in 2022. (Note: In the first quarter of 2022 Aruba’s tourism had an effect of COVID).

ADR: The average value of each room sold was $351.88, which is 14% more than the same season in 2022.

RevPAR: The average for the first 8 months was $276.63; 21% more compared to the same season by 2022.

The current projection for average hotel occupancy for September is 68%, October is 70%, and November is 73%. Expected full year 2023 occupancy is 73%, which represents a 13% reduction compared to the 2019 average.

Timeshare:

Occupancy at timeshare properties was 81% in August 2023.
