Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) is pleased to announce the release of its Annual Report for the year 2023. This comprehensive report not only highlights AAA’s vision, strategy, and company objectives but also showcases the pivotal role the airport plays in the community of Aruba.
At AAA, our vision is to becomeone of the most sustainable, safe, and future proof airports of the Latin American & Caribbean region, providing a trusted workplace, modern airport facilities, and excellent customer service which reflects the Aruba hospitality, contributing to a prosperous future for Aruba. Our strategy is built upon four key pillars: organizational & personal development, quality of service, innovations & new opportunities, sustainability & social responsibility. These pillars guide our company objectives, driving us towards continuous improvement and excellence in all aspects of our operations.
The 2023 Annual Report introduces a fresh format that aligns closely with our strategic priorities. It provides a comprehensive overview of what we have accomplished in 2023 and outlines our plans for the years ahead. With this new format, we aim to transparently communicate our progress towards our strategic goals and demonstrate our commitment to accountability and transparency.
AAA firmly believes that sharing its Annual Report transparently is crucial for AAA, its stakeholders, and the Aruban community. By openly communicating on the performance of Aruba’s sole airport, we aim to underscore the significance of a robust aviation infrastructure. With this transparency we are not only aiming to foster trust and understanding amongst our stakeholders, but we wish to be an inspiration for others to prioritize openness and accountability in their operations.
Some key highlights from the 2023 Annual Report include serving more than 25 airlines with more than 45 routes which included 5 new destinations and 2 new airlines transporting close to 2.9 million passengers representing a growth of 14% versus 2022. AUA Airport enjoyed an increased passenger satisfaction and experience rating bringing it to an all-time high level of respectively 4.50and 4.32 on a 5-point scale, with 5 being excellent. We insourced our General Aviation (FBO) operation and have successfully done so during its first year of operation in 2023. AUA Airport was recertified under the Green Globe Certification program and level 3 of the ACI Carbon Accreditation program was also achieved in 2023.
Joost Meijs, CEO AAA: “We can proudly look back on yet another successful year for AAA and AUA Airport. We could not have reached our milestones and highlights of 2023 without the support of all ourAAA team, our airport stakeholders within the airport community, and our external stakeholders within the Aruban aviation and tourism industry. Our heartfelt thanks go out to every one of our AAA team members and all our stakeholders. Weare committed to continue to work towards reaching our goals in becoming that leading airport in the Caribbean.”
