On Wednesday morning, the Aruba Tourism Authority held a special celebration in connection with World Tourism Day. World Tourism Day is observed every year on September 27th and marks the perfect time to congratulate and show appreciation to all those who contribute to the most important industry on our island.

Under the cloak of World Tourism Organization its theme “invested in people”, this year has shed special light on the part of the hospitality industry and all the professionals who work with passion behind and in front of the curtains to provide exceptional services and create memorable experiences for our visitors.  In a completely full room, His Excellency the Minister of Tourism Mr. Danguillaume Oduber, and Ronella Croes, CEO of A.T.A. important information was shared about the contribution of the hospitality sector to the tourism industry, about achievements and successes achieved and key points to take into account to stimulate lasting development. He congratulated and thanked all those present who included dignitaries, local partners, different who work in the “Food & Beverage” sector as well as students of the University of Aruba.

This year the celebration had the special guest, Will Guidara, author of the book “unreasonable Hospitality” and former owner of Once Madison Park which was #1 restaurant in the world in 2017. With extensive experience in the hospitality industry, Mr. Guidara shared her wisdom and knowledge on the topic of hospitality and how it can continue to revolutionize hospitality in Aruba, emphasizing the human connections and cordiality that make customers feel valued and appreciated. A presentation that surely inspired and left a lasting impression on everyone present. As the Dmmo (Destination marketing and Management Organization) of Aruba, A.T.A.’s mission is to attract high-quality visitors and elevate the visitor experience.

For the last decade, and before that, the tourism industry has successfully contributed to ruining its economy and well-being. He showed strength, a strength that is anchored in the hard work of many. The strength of Aruba is “by design” and this must continue to protect and stimulate. Challenges should counter arrests and opportunities should capitalize on them and where key changes are needed, these should be executed. A.T.A. there are two weeks of conferences and behind-the-scenes events where you can look back at key achievements for the industry. The Tourist Office and the whole team congratulate and thank all the partners and the whole community!
