ABC Bus company is provisionally exempt from a tax debt of almost twelve million guilders. This arose after the government provided less subsidy in 2020. The company has reported strong losses for years, but was nevertheless cut by the government for more than three million guilders. Based on the results of research by the foundation of the government account agency SBAB, the ministers of VVRP and Finance have found a solution whereby ABC Bus company will again have the 1.3 million plus from 1 January 2024 receives an additional 700,000 guilders. However, one of the conditions for the exemption is that from 1 January 2024 ABC will again pay all taxes for four consecutive years.
ABC indicates that more costs are coming because of the obsolete fleet from 2008, the Volvo buses have to be replaced.
