The Public Ministry recently closed a transaction agreement in the Flamingo case against him. Suspect Humphrey Anthony Croes for a sum of Afl. 25.000.
Croes is suspected of actively bribing a worker of the office of the Minister for Development of Space, Infrastructure and Environment (ROIM) in the period of November 2017 to August 2020. The maximum fine that can be imposed for this offense under the Penal Code of Aruba is Afl. 25.000. Therefore, the total transaction agreed upon is equal to the maximum fine.
The Public Ministry has the opinion that there is sufficient evidence against Croes and the fact that he is being suspected can also be proved. Considering all the facts and circumstances, including the fact that there are no victims or harmed whose interests may be harmed by the transaction made, the Public Ministry considers the transaction mentioned as a solution suitable for Mr. Croes.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office also took note of the agreement in similar cases. Ministry of Public is of the opinion that the total amount of the transaction does justice to the specific deeds and role Croce played in the Flamingo criminal case. Both the Public Ministry and Croes consider that this transaction is an adequate resolution of the criminal case.
The Public Ministry emphasizes that this transaction does not affect the course of the criminal proceedings against the other suspects in the case. If Croes does not comply with the conditions that have been agreed, he will also be brought before a judge.
