On Thursday afternoon, a meeting took place between Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes

and the investors and developers of Secrets Baby Beach Aruba, to discuss the status of the project. As is known, part of this project is in the pipeline, causing a delay in the construction process of the hotel. A situation that has caused concern for investors and developers who have visited Aruba to see the progress.

During their tour on the island, the investors and developers were very impressed and expressed that they “fell in love” with the island. They also noticed that tourism is booming and they consider that the Secrets Baby Beach Aruba project is good for Aruba and especially for San Nicolas. Moreover, they saw the commitment of Prime Minister and Cabinet Wever-Croes to develop San

Nicolas and Aruba in general. They were very impressed with the Prime Minister’s vision for San Nicolas reform.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister informed them that the Government supports this project, and believes it will change the dynamics of the development of San Nicolas and Aruba in general. This project will bring new employment opportunities to the unemployed, and will make life easier for those living in the neighborhood, who do not have to commute extra early each morning to get to their workplace.

The Prime Minister indicated that the meeting took place in a good atmosphere, in which both the Government and the investors and developers had the opportunity to put their points forward, and express their concern.  Aruba is in full recovery, and it is the Government’s commitment to take care of all citizens of Aruba to feel the progress and well-being.

President of the Martinon Group, Mr. Artur Cabre expressed his satisfaction to hear from the Government of Aruba that the government and the people of San Nicolas stand behind this project, seeing that a sum has been invested substantial for the construction of Secrets Baby Beach. He thanked the San Nicolas Business Association for organizing the event to collect signatures, and the people of Aruba to come and sign.

It is also important that the partners get an explanation from the Prime Minister on what is really going on with the construction of the hotel, seeing that the delay has caused the partners to doubt and whether this is the excuse they are giving to stop the project. Mr. Cabre indicated that the meeting with the Prime Minister brought clarity to the partners and seeing the commitment of the Government to make this project a reality, gave them a feeling of security that soon Secrets Baby Beach Aruba could be inaugurated.
