On last Tuesday in Curaçao 17 catering workers received their HACCP certificates from the president of the Department of KHN of Curaçao, Tarzeno Cirkens, the minister of the Ministry of Economic Development (MEO) Ruisandro Cijntje and the minister of education, science, culture and sports of Curaçao (Owcs) Sithree van heydoorn.
Circkens indicated in his speech that the vision of KHN Curaçao is to improve the service and quality of Hygiene and Safety in the hotel industry. Raising this to an international standard level (HACCP). Both Minister van Heydoorn and Minister Cijntje indicated that tourism is one of Curaçao’s most important economic pillars and that the HACCP training contributes to the level of service and experience we provide to our tourists and local population.
Food safety and hygiene are of paramount importance. During this training, provided by SHSC Curaçao, the students learned all about hygiene and safety in the catering business, so that they can guarantee food safety. The certificates that the students received are recognized by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Course (owcs). The president of KHN Curaçao congratulates all students for their certificates and hopes that more hospitality workers will follow the HACCP training.
