Art gang creates opportunities for young Bonaireans to become professional DJs

The Arte Bonaire Gang is open from September 4 to December 2023 for young Bonaire artists who are either aspiring artists or simply want to learn something new. One of the first coaches will be a DJ coach where three experienced DJs will give the lessons. They will receive a full package so that they can play professionally at various events. In the process of the Gang of Art itself will also come several opportunities to perform in Bonaire, Aruba, Corsica and the Netherlands.

Di Boneiro Jaimy Abdul also known as DJ Orleus and Jerrysen Albertus known as DJ Panter will dedicate 4 weeks to train the youngsters of the Gang of Art. From Corsou, Laennon Rumai also known as The Spinmaster DJ Laennon will come to Bonaire to give an intensive three-day workshop to help these youngsters develop extensively as DJs. These three DJs combined have more than 60 years of experience in the world of dance.

DJ Panter is well known in Bonaire for his part in various festivals in Bonaire and has also been profiled for a season as a DJ on NosTV and radio. DJ Panter has recently been more active as MC Jerr-Y in various local festivals. DJ Panter returns to the world of DJing especially to pass on his knowledge as a DJ to the youth of the Gang of Art.

DJ Orleus is celebrating 25 years in the local music scene and in the Netherlands. He started his career in Bonaire in 1997 at the Whiskey Bar and then moved to the disco E Wowo as a resident DJ. In the Netherlands he plays at festivals that receive more than 60 thousand visitors. Currently in Bonaire he is the resident DJ at several hotels and also the regular Lemonade parties. DJ Orleus has already trained some of these DJs in Bonaire who are already teaching at local festivals and also on the radio. Now he’s ready to lend a hand to create the next generation of DJs on Bonaire.

DJ Laennon has almost 35 years of experience as a DJ. She started at the age of 11 after being inspired by her brother who played in famous clubs in Corsica. He started simply playing in the neighborhood and continued to grow under different bands such as CLB Disco, DJ Supercat and DJ Massive Sound Abuse. He also worked at Radio Jumbo 100.3 which later became Hit 100.3. At the time he was already playing as an independent DJ. As of 2017, he runs his company Spinmaster Entertainment where he is known as The Spinmaster – DJ Laennon. In addition to playing at various local events and also to people coming from around the world to Curacao to get married. He has taught his 10-year-old son to play and now DJ Diego is becoming popular as the youngest DJ on the street.

Gang de Arte is for young people from 13 to 19 years old. Young people aged 12 to 20 will also be able to record and listen to a conversation with them to see if they meet the entry criteria for the Art Gang.
