Recently, I visited Butucu in San Nicolas, where there is a lot of available farmland approved by the Parliament of Aruba. In the ROPV Ruimtelijk Ordeningsplan, there are various land available for agriculture and livestock. So we can reach a new economic and industrial pillar. This means that we will create jobs and we can also get to higher quality food at a reasonable price. There are many people in different generations who live from agriculture and animal husbandry. We have plans and key investors to invest in Aruba. There are international experts ready to help prepare our country and educate our people to take on this new industry. What it requires is for government departments to have their noses in the same direction, prepared and empowered to provide support and guidance in this industry. This is definitely a wonderful opportunity for Aruba. We have to execute the plan now, we cannot sit back and wait for the moment to come again, to face that it is very dangerous to continue to depend on only one economic pillar.
