Wardakosta

Today, Sunday, April 23rd, in the early morning hours, the central “meldkamer” received a notification from the Coast Guard that their patrol boat had detected a suspicious boat heading towards Lagun at high speed from Venezuela. Police immediately dispatched a patrol to the scene and found four people, including a baby, apparently waiting for the suspected boat to approach the shore. When the men in the boat saw that the boat was moving, they turned and headed for the lake. Patrons from the Netherlands Caribbean Police, Koninklijke Marechaussee, Duane and Coast Guard managed to intercept the boat, but the suspects managed to flee the scene. Shortly after, the police managed to arrest two suspects. An investigation on the boat resulted in 37 cargo bags on board being delivered to Duane.
A total of six people were arrested in connection with the case. These are four men: a 53-year-old with the initials C.B.A., a 48-year-old with the initials S.S.A., a 57-year-old with the initials J.J.M., and a 44-year-old with the initials R.G.F.T. Two women were also arrested: a 30-year-old with initials J.J.C.A. and a 26-year-old with initials D.M.G.V.
The police handed the baby over to a relative in agreement with the Youth Department. Two vehicles belonging to the suspects detained in Lagun were also seized. The case is still under investigation.
