Day one of La Cabana’s Dia di Hymno & Bandera celebration staged an exciting indoor soccer match with Boy Roch spearrheading the successful activity, along with Cesar Tromp, Jacqueline Rosel , and Jeanette Brooks.
The Culinary Brigade and the Kitchen Staff in command of the excellent catering of the event, outdid itself in honor of Aruba’s national day celebration.
La Cabana’s Social Committee Team, is busy year round but steps up its activity around the holidays tripling its efforts to support fun associate initiatives.
The champions of the indoor soccer match, a team made up of Front Office, Bell and Activities members took home the trophy, until next year, with Food & Beverage occupying second place.
On day two of the program, Santa Rosa, the island’s government Fishing, Agriculture and Husbandry department made an informative presentation about Medicinal Plants and Herbs.
Santa Rosa’s Ludwig Rasmijn, assisted by his colleague Randy Maduro, discussed different plants used as medicine, describing their benefits, and many associates were very interested to learn more about natural healing and local plants. Ludwig also answered questions and elaborated on the services provided by Santa Rosa, in addition to planting tips.
The Social Committee thanked the visiting lecturers and presented them with a token of appreciation.
Day three of the program opened with the traditional, annual flag hoisting ceremony hosted by Guest Care Manager, Ena Vrolijk. This was the more formal part of the program.
The national anthem, “Aruba Dushi Tera” was beautifully sung by associate Lyrza Lansiquot, of the Activities Department.
The celebration continued with live music by Jerrino Bass and a special Aruban themed luncheon in a beautifully decorated associate cafeteria, the chit-chat café, serving a delicious Aruban menu prepared by the culinary team.
Kudos to La Cabana’s Social Committee for making the three days of Dia Di Hymno & Bandera Celebrations, most patriotic and special.
