DAK bag from GN for mayor König
The opening of the Jubilee exhibition in the Lebuinuskerk by Deventer Mayor König together with the chairman of DAK was a great success. Mayor König also received from DAK chairman Mrs. Ellen Groenewegen a DAK bag with a work of art by GN (www.gustavenouel.nl) from Aruba, standing next to his JAZZ ART painting, as one of the newest teachers/supervisors at DAK. JAZZ ART by the well-known artist GN has been allowed to hang in the Dutch Pavilion at a World Exhibition. In various cultural exchanges, works of art from GN have been allowed to ‘enhance’ our Kingdom artistically (both the Netherlands and the Overseas Kingdoms).
GN was able to share his international experience with murals as a supervisor with talented DAK artists on a recent mural of over 90 square meters in the ‘Fortuinhof’, celebrating 50 years of DAK and as an ode to the ‘Hanzestad’ of Deventer. Footage of this can be seen at the exhibition. The results of various workshops can also be seen at this exhibition. Aventus students who want to become artists later also show the results of their DAK workshop at this exhibition. Some of the best-known and/or most recognized professional artists from the region have been hired by the DAK board to guide the creative members/artists.
The artists’ association has asked these supervisors to also show a work of art at this expo ‘Jubilatoire’. This special exhibition for all levels, celebrating 50 years of DAK, with paintings, ceramics, modeling, etchings, and other techniques, can be ‘admired’ daily until August 6 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., in the Lebuinus Church. Everyone is welcome. The entrance is free.
