Esmeralda Rondei-Harreman was recognized last Friday during the 21st Annual Female Leadership Conference in Curaçao as an Outstanding Woman for her achievements in volunteering work in Curaçao.
To be recognized as an Outstanding Woman, a role model for younger women; the woman must be older than 60 years old, from the Caribbean and the work that she did during her life and career, must be benefitting other women.
Esmeralda Rondei-Harreman is a true volunteer who was born in Curaçao in 1956 and
was 10 years old when she joined scouting on her island.
Her career in scouting was the opportunity to do many training and courses, she got to know all the details of scouting and it was also the best time for her to work on her personal development.
She is known for being a great motivator in the all-girls scout group Jeanne D’Arc whom she still leads.
She is an active Jaycees International member, was the president of the Dutch Caribbean Junior Chamber in 1996, and now has since 2021 a senator ship of Jaycees International, which means always being an honorary member for her achievements in the organization.
Next to all this, she was since 2015 active volunteer for the foundation ‘Tur ta konta’ where young people were assisted to understand, and learn mathematics.
During the last few years, she assisted patients in going through all the different specialties in the local hospital the Curaçao Medical Center.
She also makes time to read, sing, and tell stories to elders.
Her life philosophy is that her right hand should not know what her left hand is doing.
